Special Music

Emory UMC was treated to special music by a special young lady. Chloe C. provided a beautiful rendition of “Keep On the Sunny Side” for our morning offertory. Chloe sang the old Carter Family song and accompanied herself appropriately on the autoharp. It was a very special treat for our worship service.

CH-CH-CH-CH-Changes
Emory UMC has been a place of change this summer. Since the end of May, we have opened our doors to our neighbors from Old Glade Presbyterian. Old Glade is undergoing some renovation at their church and needed a place to worship…so we welcomed them to the use of our Sanctuary. They will be utilizing our church building until their renovation is complete.

With the Old Glade congregation meeting in our church AND with the upcoming changes in the leadership of our congregation (sharing a minister with sister church Meadowview UMC), we decided to make a change in the time of our worship. Note the graphic below:

June 15th marked the last Sunday for Pastors Beverly Robinette and Tim Kobler. A farewell luncheon was given in their honor. We wish them well in their new positions. They will be missed.

On June 29th, we welcomed our new pastor, the Rev. David Jackson and his family to our congregation and we also kicked off another wonderful week of the Emory Service Project.
